Hi @EzeRedgate
Please can you try uninstalling SQL Search using this tool:
https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.htm
Then reinstall the latest version:
ftp://support.red-gate.com/patches/SQLSearch/31May2019/SQLSearch.exe

Thanks the solution provided by Victoria W worked!

The only way I could let it reinstall after using add/remove app to install it to a different SSMS was to delete every registry key (using regedit32) with the values "SQL Search" in it. This was 11 main keys

Sloppy!! Very Very Sloppy!! Seems we're back to the issue of uninstalling SSMS BEFORE we uninstall SQL Search and SSMS Integration Pack, as I am having this issue where I cannot re-install them now (as it claims they are already installed)... I expect better uninstall scripts from a company like Red Gate. Especially with the price they charge for their tools!
So now I too will have to manually edit the registry because some developer didn't do their due diligence! -
Hi @gspies
I'm very sorry for the inconvenience this caused you.
It's a solution that has helped customers before which is why I suggested it but as it's causing problems with SSMS installations I have raised it with the development team for review.
@Dotnettex I will raise a support ticket for you now and we'll look into your issue further.

Pre-condition:
1. Removed previous version of SSMS
2. Installed newer version of SSMS (18.1)
3. Tried upgrading or removing SQL Search
4. Displays error
Kindly help resolve the issue or share how can i enable the SQL Search in SSMS.
Thanks for the help.
