SQL Search disappeared from my SSMS

  Please can you try this:
  

  1. Open Programs and Features

  2. Right-click SSMS Integration Pack Framework 1 and select Repair

  Hello Victoria , 

   Thanks a lot for this. That fixing didn't work.   I have Un-installed both of them and re-installed . But still the same issue.

  Attached here list of installed programmes on my PC. 

  Could you please suggest what need to be done ?

  I had had installed Latest from SQLDeveloper bundle , but I have re-installed from the given link. But no change ..  It is still not appearing for SSMS 2017.  Surprisingly it is appearing for 2012. Not sure what's wrong.

  With SSMS 2016 and 17, the SQL Search icon sometimes gets hidden and you need to expand the toolbar menu as below. Can you do a quick check to see if that might be the case?
  
  
  
  If not, can you kindly check the extension folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\140\Tools\Binn\ManagementStudio\Extensions\SQLSearch and send across a screenshot of what's in there?
  
  Can I also just check- when you launch SSMS 17.6, does any log file get generated in %localappdata%\Red Gate\Logs\SQLSearch 3?

  Thanks a lot for this Victoria ,  I think reinstallation resolved the issue . Initially it was not hidden . Then I followed steps you suggested in another forum. That resolved Issue.

  I also had the problem that my SQL Search Tool disappeared since I updated to SSMS 2019 (18.3.1).

  
  

  However I tried to remove and reinstall the SQL Developer Bundle together with SQL Search.
  I had SQL Search version 3.0 installed - but the uninstaller could not uninstall the tool.

  
  

  When I tried to reinstall it wanted to update SQL Search 3.0 --> 3.3 but also failed.

  So how can I successfully install the SQL Search tool?

  
  

  Maybe the error message is indeed right and you did not "activate" it for SSMS 2019, yet?
