Hey, Frens!
Just want to second Roseanna's mention that please let her know if you have any requests for learning materials:- Is there a devops or automation related topic you'd like to start presenting on, but need help getting going?
- Are there tools that we've got that seem awesome, and you'd like to learn about them, but not sure where to start?
Kendra -
I am interested in writing something for my first article. However, I have the #1 issue, not knowing what to write about. Are there any tricks for getting past that little hurdle?

Hi @gbargsley, you're not alone - it's a common problem to have. I have asked our Editor, Tony, to reach out to you with some tips and tricks for sparking ideas

Hi @gbargsley
I don't write as much as I used to due to time and other commitments. I've written mainly for SQLServerCentral. I got ideas from a number of places- Exploring solutions to questions posted on StackOverFlow
- Reading a number of articles to find out about a subject and finding the answers I was looking for were either missing or sparsely explained.
- Things I was doing at work that I thought might be interesting to the community
- Things I was learning in my own time.
- Reviews of products or books
- Discussions with colleagues that generated more questions than answers
- How to use 3rd party tools (such as Redgate SQL Generator) in unusual ways or perhaps ways in which the vendor hadn't thought of.
- Phase one is just to get your ideas recorded.
- Phase two is to critique what you have written and discard the bits that won't work or don't fit.
- Phase three is to refine and polish what is left.

Fantastic tips, @Dave60103. Thank you for sharing
Does anyone else have any recommendations for topics to write about or where to get inspiration from? -
Hello friends,
I'm excited to share another exclusive learning resource with you: a SQL Provision Presentation Kit.
Created by Kathi Kellenberger, this kit gives you all the information you need to deliver a 20-30 minute session on SQL Provision.
This was designed in response to many of you seeking to develop your speaking skills and widen your experience with presenting sessions to user groups and SQL Saturdays. We hope this kit provides the perfect springboard for you to share your thoughts and expertise with the SQL Server community.
Download the SQL Provision Kit here.Within this kit you will find:
- Information on SQL Provision
- Slide deck
- Demo files
- Demo prep instructions
- Provision demo instructions
- An example session hosted by Kathi Kellenberger
Claiming your NFR license
In order to deliver this session, you will need SQL Provision installed. All FoRGs are entitled to NFR licenses for our products for personal use. To request your free license, email me on friends@red-gate.com.
Arranging sponsorshipTo accompany your session, we would be delighted to provide remote sponsorship for the user group or event. To request sponsorship, simply complete this form and add a note that you will be presenting a SQL Provision session.
Any questions?
If you have any questions about the contents of this kit, please email friends@red-gate.com
A huge thank you to KathiK for all her hard work on this resource. We hope you find this content useful. Please do let us know your feedback and if you plan to present this session.
Cheers,

I am personally VERY excited about the SQL Provision Kit recently announced! I have given many hundreds of presentations, and the majority of them were from content created in some measure by others (that I received permission to use). As much as I really enjoy GIVING presentations, I equally dislike both reinventing the wheel and creating content. So I would LOVE to see more such "here's presentation material for Redgate Product XYZ" that I can use to spread the word!!

Thanks @TheSQLGuru! That's exactly why we created the kit - we understand that many of you want to speak more, but don't always have the time to produce a session from this scratch. This kit gives you the foundations for a session and you can then add your unique finishing touches.
Let us know what you think of the kit. We plan to produce more resources like this, so any feedback on how we can make these even more useful is much appreciated. -
Hello all,

This year, I want to help you all to develop your skills and learn more about Redgate products. With this in mind, we have started creating a series of training resources for you.
First up is a guide on 'How to Write Articles for Redgate Product Learning' written by our Editor, Tony Davis. In the guide, Tony summarizes the types of articles that we're looking for and gives some tips on how to start writing. There are also some examples to give you a better idea of the content that appears on Product Learning.
Download the guide and contact Tony or me if you have any questions.
More resources will follow over the coming months. Let me know if you have any specific requests and if you have any feedback on this guide.
Cheers,
Roseanna
