Do we need a serial number for Schema Compare For Oracle to use it in Jenkins?

Hello,

We are working on a project using the Schema Compare For Oracle to setup up the continuous integration with Jenkins. When we run the command line from the server, it works fine as shown in the first picture. But when it is run from Jenkins, we get an error that the version of Schema Compare For Oracle is expired as shown in the second picture, please note that we still have 28 days for the software to expire.

Deploying using build servers like Jenkins requires a Deployment Suite for Oracle license (not a Schema Compare for Oracle license).

We have received an evaluation key for Deployment Suite for Oracle but we still get the same error.

Sorry this never actually popped up a notification so I didn't realise you'd come back - did you ever get to the bottom of this or did you still need help?

I have had a similar issue using Octopus Deploy, same error message despite correct licensing and activation.

I was able to run the command successfully from Octopus Deploy in a Powershell window directly on the server.

The problem turned out to be that the Octopus Deploy Tentacle (agent) service was running under Local System user. Switching to the user I logged on as resolved the problem.

    Thanks @NigelWest for quick response.

I am using Jenkins, I would like to know the steps for Jenkins. Could you please share the details if possible.

I will check if we can do it for Jenkins in the similar manner.

Sorry Jaffer, I've only had experience with Octopus, not Jenkins

I created a new user in Jenkins same as my windows admin user and it is working fine. I have also made changes in the Jenkins services to logon as the same admin user.
