Until such time as Microsoft release Powertools for Visual Studio 2017 that allow this behaviour, you'll need to keep Visual Studio 2015 installed I'm afraid.
Then, follow the advice on this page: https://documentation.red-gate.com/soc6/troubleshooting/error-messages/this-commit-doesn-t-meet-the-server-s-policy-requirements-or-the-policy-isn-t-configured-on-your-machine.

The VS upgrade included me uninstalling my previous Visual Studio 2015 instance.
Since this update every time I try to check in a DB change against a TFS item number I the following error:
"This commit doesn't meet the server's policy requirements, or the policy isn't configured on your machine.."
Any assistance you can provide to resolve this issue would be appreciated.I am using Version 6.1.8.xxx of Redgate Source Control.
