Labeling changes against work tickets

Does anyone have a way to label which ticket a particular change was for?  Come release time, we have a real game at selecting which changes go into the deployment scripts.

    What VCS are you currently using? SQL Source Control supports adding the bug ID (SVN) or work item number (TFS) to the comment you make when committing changes (see documentation here).

    We're using Git but with shared database and local working directories.  I'll give this a try.  Thanks.
