TEXTPTR is used to script varbinary(max) data

I was wondering why the SQL Data Compare still uses the "old" functionality of the TEXTPTR to script binary data.

Will it be changed to the UPDATE .... .WRITE statement?

    Probably only when we drop support for SQL Server 2000 and/or it stops working at all in a new version.

    What are the advantages of changing it to UPDATE / WRITE from your perspective?
