How does SQL monitor check which nodes are in a cluster?

When adding a cluster, SQL monitor is detecting a node that was evicted and cleaned from the cluster. As such, it is trying to use a license for this non-existent node

    Hi @dbl_frankly

Can you delete the node (the one was deleted before) again and make sure "Delete all existing data for there servers from the Data Repository" is checked?

We detect nodes on a cluster by querying the MSCluster Namespace, so if its in there, rightly or wrongly (eg if you've removed it and the uninstall process didn't remove it from there) we'll try to add it.

Great...thanks for the info. We had to reboot the server, after which, red gate no longer detected that node

Aye sadly thats not uncommon; sometimes the cluster namespace won't be properly rebuilt until a reboot.
