sql backup 5 job hanging

I've got a sql backup 5 backup job hanging. The job appears to still be running as far as Red Gate is concerned but if you look at the job in sql server 2005, it not running. It's like the thread between red gate sql backup is still active but sql server 2005 doesn't know anything about it.
How do I kill this backup in read gate sql backup?

    Thank you for your post into the forum.

    Unfortunately your post does not inform of the exact version of SQL Backup you are using.

    If you are using SQL Backup 5.3 or earlier, I recommend that you upgrade to version 5.4.

    Please download SQL Backup 5.4 using this link HERE

    To kill the current running Job, you need to stop the SQL Backup Agent Service. This action should stop the job running within SQL Server.

    If you mean that your job is still running by seeing it in the In Progress tab and you have Verify on then you have a known problem. Red gate are hoping to have this fixed in 5.5.
