Add Checksum option to verify option on the GUI.

Currently only the command line/SQL versions allows you can add checksum to the backups. Please add checksum to GUI version for SQL 2005 so the backup can be properly verified. Have it greyed out for SQL 2000 and as a option for SQL 2005/2008

    Thank you for your post into the forum.

    As per the support call you have already raised with us, call reference F0018032, a feature request has been submitted to be able to configure the CHECKSUM argument via the SQL Backup GUI, when running the Backup wizard, Schedule Backup Wizard and the Restore Wizard.

    The reference for this feature request is SB-3746.

    If you wish to configure the CHECKSUM argument you can script out the job to add the argument manually. Or if this is a scheduled job, locate the job under SSMS ->SQL Server Agent ->Jobs. Select properties ->Steps ->Edit and add the parameter.
