How to install 5.7 in SSMS 2017 when already installed in SSMS 2017

  This is intended behaviour. To get into a new version of SSMS you will need to uninstall and install again. Or you can download a later version (we have several frequent releases since 5.7) and update to that.

  Thanks! How do I download a later version? The bundle still has 5.6 and the previous post is 5.7, which gives me the "already installed" message.

  You can use the the Check for Update feature: https://documentation.red-gate.com/soc6/installing-licensing-and-updating/update/checking-for-updates
  
  If you want to upgrade to the very latest version you should enable Frequent updates:
