Restore SQL2012 backups and transaction logfiles to SQL2016 instance?

Is it possible to restore SQL2012 backups and transaction logfiles (created with SQLBackup) to a SQL2016 instance?

    Hi Ruben,

    Yes, this is fine. You can't go the other way however from 2016>2012.

    Do you need any assistance setting this up?
