We do not have any documentation for recommending how to build and optimize your disk array.
The Microsoft recommendations for optimizing disk arrays for native SQL disk backups will apply for Red Gate SQL Backup files.
I do have the following personal recommendations you may wish to consider:
Ensure that you have sufficient disk storage capacity. Data storage capacity, depends on the number and size of the database backup files you wish to support.
I/O throughput, choose your configuration for the best I/O performance.
Protect against unexpected disk drive failure . Use RAID 1 or RAID 0+1 for good performance and fault tolerance.
