Hi, thank you for your forum post.
To use a TNS connection, you need to have the Oracle Client or Instant Client installed on the machine running Schema Compare for Oracle.
On a 64-bit Windows OS, the installer will install both the 64-bit version and 32-bit version of Redgate's Oracle Tools. On the Start menu there will be two entries
Schema Compare for Oracle - This is the 64-bit version of Schema Compare for Oracle.
Schema Compare for Oracle (32-bit) - As indicated this is the 32-bit version.
As you which version of Schema Compare for Oracle, 64-bit or 32-bit, you use is dependent upon if you are using a 64-bit Oracle Client or a 32-bit version of the Oracle. This help article explains:
http://documentation.red-gate.com/pages ... d=42542503
If the 32-bit version of the Oracle Client is installed, use the 32-bit version of Schema Compare for Oracle. If the 64-bit version of the Oracle Client is installed, use the 64-bit version of Schema Compare for Oracle.
In hope this answers your question.
Many Thanks

Getting 'Must install client tools for TNS connection', is this the 'Oracle database client' or 'Instant Client' or something else?
Also, how can it tell it I am running the 64-bit version of 'Data Compare for Oracle'?
