push to master by-passed protected branch?

i think we just witnessed that we Pushed our sql source to master branch and we have it protected but it still updated the master branch. is this a known thing/issue. has anyone else came across this? thanks.

    I have not seen this specifically but if you go to the path``%USERPROFILE%AppDataLocalRed GateSQL Source Control 5CommandLineHooks`` and look at the GIT file, you can see the command line arguments that we use on GIT.

    Do you have any required Status Checks that they have to pass?
