Data compare withou sql compare

Hello,

if we do not want to sync the database with the lates information of the table structure we still would like to sync the contents.
At the moment that is not possible if the source table contains additional columns compare to the target table.

I would suggest that the sql generator would not look to the source table, but only generate a script for the columns that are available in the source and target table.

At the moment data compare generates a script with columns that are not available in de target table, so the script will fail.

Can you fix that, or create a setting to allow ignore missing columns in the target table.

    Thanks for your post.

    Am I right i assuming you are using SQL Data Compare UI? Please correct me if I am wrong.

    If it is can you navigate in SQL Data Compare UI to New/Edit Project --> Tables & Views tab ->Columns in the comparison ->remove the columns that exist only in the source from the comparison.

    If you want to do a column selection on a table that is not yet sinked sql data compare will crash.
