Check for updates misses updates

Hi,

I have just noticed in a Simple Talk email that v3.9 is available. I see from the site that it has been available since Jul 21st.

I have tried Start|Programs|RedGate|SQLPromt3|Check for updates and the wait icon spins endlessly. Check for updates on startup is ticked. Why would my update check process be failing?

Is there a particular TCP port that may be blocked on my firewall/proxy?

Is there no message to say your check process cant 'call home'?

How do i get the update without having to go through the submit contact details process?

Would all of my RedGate tools be suffering from the lack of updates?
