Which output format should it be?
I wouldn't know a better format at the moment. -
Well, it isn't that I don't care for SVG. It has been my experience that it just doesn't play well with anything else besides IE/Firefox since it isn't a widely supported format, so it can just be a pain at times to work with. You are right though... SVG is probably the best possibility at the current time. I guess my main problem stems from the difficulty in viewing an SVG formatted document. It would be nice to also have an option to save it as just an image format, like PNG, as well.
It seems like someone would've come up with some sort of XML schema for describing a sequence diagram by now. I could definitely see some advantages in being able to actually modify the resulting output file in a format that isn't image/vector based. Shrug. -
Hi lusid,
I'm pretty sure you can open an SVG in PaintShop Pro and then output it as something else, like a PNG. Obviously that's not much help if you don't have PSP. I just checked Paint.NET, which is free, as well but it doesn't look like that will do it. I suspect The GIMP--also free--could probably pull it off though.
Hope that helps.

At the risk of this become a thread about graphics editing applications :-), Inkscape is a free vector graphics app that'll happily deal with SVGs, and export as more appropriate things if required as well.
As a sort-of-related aside, it also has a "trace bitmap" feature that lets you scan in hand-scribbled diagrams of whatever, and turn them into a cleaner vector representation. I've used it quite a bit when I've wanted to put the results of a whiteboard scribbling somewhere a little more permanent.
Cheers,
Rob

I'm pretty excited about Red Gate acquiring Reflector. We use your tools around the office here where I work, so I know it is in good hands!
As for my suggestion... sequence diagrams! There's currently a plugin that does this called SequenceViz (http://weblogs.asp.net/nleghari/archive/2007/04/26/sequenceviz-reflector-reflector-addin-to-generate-sequence-diagrams.aspx), but my two biggest complaints are that it doesn't provide enough configuration options to create a decent sequence diagram and that it uses GNUPlot which is, IMHO, a HORRIBLE open source plotting library... and in SVG format? Ugh.
Anyways, this would be a GREAT addition, and would no doubt require a massive amount of work. However, if the quality is good, I would gladly pay for this feature. I'm sure that I'm not alone.
