Running ANTS on websites (not web-applications)

Is there anyway I can run ANTS on a website on which I complete access to?
At my work place, we deploy every site as a website and not as a virtual directory/web-app. Is there anyway I can profile them using ANTS profiler?

Thanks,

    Hi,

I'm not entirely sure what you want to do, but you will need a local login to the webserver to run ANTS Profiler against any web applications hosted on it. You cannot profile remotely from a second machine other than the web server.

By definition, all ASP .NET websites have web applications associated with them. If a new website is configured for each web application, then the application is probably the IIS 'Default Application'.

    Hopefully this helps!

I have a website on my developement server. It uses a hostheader to reference itself with a URL.

How do I profile this website?

You should have the option to choose it in the address box of ANTS Profiler. Sometimes you may get an 'ambiguous site selection error' if sites use host headers. If that's the problem, then maybe this will help.
