Hi Malcolm,
Thanks for the suggestion, I've added it to our list of requests for the product.
Out of interest, would you be expecting all incidents or recommendations to be reported in the Application log, or only some of them? If you have a lot of incidents how concerned would you be about "Application log spamming" (especially if you're log file is fairly small, e.g. 16MB)?
Thanks for your feedback,

From what I see, you have chosen certain notificiations and levels to respond to. It would be nice if these were exposed and mdae user configurable, which would include insertion of events into the application log. Maybe, set to off by default and then user switched.

Our company is already a multi - Toolbelt wearer of Redgate products, I especially Backup. I was wondering on the possibility of including the capability to have backup write directly to the application log (from the interface). We use IpMonitor as our corporate notification system and it has the ability to send SMS from the contents of an alert written to the Application event log (they won't give me a blackberry yet ! ). Whilst yes I can manually alter the notifications on the redgate produced job to do this, SQL Response and backup, I believe, would benefit from the sort of notifications. Now, I might be talking through my hat and it might be already on the DEV list, if so, cool 8) , if not, could it be ?? :?: I am also currently testing Idera Diagnostic Manager and was interested in any capability and pricing comparisions. I prefer to source all our SQL tools from one place.
Regards
Mal
