First thoughts on v6 Alpha

Great job on the new version. We used SQL Data Compare 5 at our office to test a data type conversion script we were running about 3 months ago.

The new pivot view is great, it's way easier for me to look at table differences with the columns showing up as rows. I can say this would have saved me some time before!

The next/previous buttons also make it easier to skip thru records when looking at differences. Is it possible to choose a column from the table, and then tab thru the differences in the table for only that column?

I tested it out using a live database vs a backup, which is also great. Looks like it will be very easy to roll back changes instead of doing a db restore. I'll have to try generating a script with this tool to roll back changes instead of taking the db offline to restore. (I can't wait, hah)

    Glad you like it. Thanks very much for the feedback, I think we're going to have to look into something to do with identifying changes in a particular column possibly not for this version but certainly soon.

    I think compare to backup is finally going to be the killer feature that SQL Data Compare has been looking for.
