In the Object Differences tab that is available after running a compare, there is a column called "Include" that has a description "Use the check box to set whether this row will be synchronized." This seems to work correctly for updates but not inserts. If I select a subset rows that are different (i.e. those that exist in both the source and destination tables) the generated script contains UPDATEs for that subset. However, if I select a subset of rows that exist only in the source table, the generated script contains INSERTs for *all* rows that exist only in the source table.
