Suppress backup file checking in restore wizard

I'm not sure that this is what is happening, but...

When I try to restore an 80GB backup file (that's 80GB after compressed), the GUI goes to "Checking backup files" or something for ... well.. I didn't wait for it to finish. Suffice it to say it appeared to be reading the entire 80GB file. My network was certainly busy enough.

Can I suppress that check? Or am I stuck making an SQL procedure and bypassing the GUI for restores?
