Hi Jon
Thank you for your post.
At what point when running or using SQL Compare does the error occur?
What actions were you performing?
Does this error occur everytime you use SQL Compare? Or intermittently or just this one time?
Also is there any other information generated at the time of the error, for example any Just In Time (JIT) debugging?
Finally any entries in the Event Viewer Logs that may help in identifing why the error is occuring?
Best Regards

i apologize for the cross post. here is some more information BUT the problem seemed to be occurring because of an invalid installation of .Net 1.1.

I'm receiving the following error after loading SQL Server 2005 sp1 and MS Visual Studio 2005:
"RedGate.SQLCompare.UI.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services
Application has generated an exception that coule not be handled".

per Brian, I reinstalled .Net Framework 1.1, but I'm still getting the same error.
Is there any else that I can try? Per debugging
"File or assembly name System.Windows.Forms, or one of its dependencies, was not found."
Thanks!
