Discovering instances (or atleast cahcing them when entered)

I have seen a couple of other posts in here about instances not being "discovered" but havent seen any word from developers or support.

Every server we have here has instances, none of them show up in the drop down (the servers do, but the instances dont), and everytime i enter an instance in manually, i have to do this everytime i change databases/servers

Evidently it seems it isnt possible to programatically determine instances (only servers), but it would be heaps easier to use, if the redgate tools could even just cache each valid entry that the user has manually plugged in, and show these cached entries at the top of the list, before the servers which are "discovered" on the network via the normal means.

Take a look at query analyser for example... once you enter a server/instance in once, its in the list next time :)

    Hi there,

I am sorry to say that caching of Server Intances did not make it into this release.
I hope that we can get this feature into the next release.

    Thanks,

Might even be nice if that cached list of servers were SHARED between all the red-gate products!
