Thanks for the suggestion. Is there any reason why this isn't something you can modify in the SSMS properties dialog? Is it something you think is more suited in the SQL Doc UI?

Right - I can do it by using SSMS BUT SQL Doc will be much more user friendly.
Of course there is also a possibility to use simple SQL-statements but that's not really what we want to do. The maintanace of all Extended Props will be made by end-users responsible for all meta-data for a huge database system. -
Ah - that's interesting. Do the end users who will be making those changes have SSMS on their desktops or will they only have SQL Doc?
David -
They will only have SQL doc. No intention to roll out SSMS.

Thanks for the additional info.
How would this best work for you in SQL Doc? Is the current interface adequate, or should there be an easier way to input this information?
David -
The current interface is absolutely adequate.
Thanks ! -
Would you need to add new extended properties from SQL Doc, or do you only need to edit exsiting ones?
David -
We need to add new extended properties as well as maintanence of already entered Extended Props.

Just checking if there is any progress on this case ...
Best regards

We'd really like to accommodate this feature in a future release, but we can't at this stage make any short term promises. At the moment we fully recognize that just supporting the one extended property, MS_Description is restrictive to many.
Kind regards,
David -
We have about 7 extra properties we'd like to include with our database documentation for each field in out tables. Being able to edit and add these is key.
-
How would you want these to be accommodated in the documentation? (in terms of layout)

It looks like this has been requested and tracked for a very long time (SDOC-775). I am updated to the latest version of SQL Doc and it is still not implemented. Is this going to happen? It would be a very useful feature. It doesn't necessarily have to be in SQL Doc. It could be a plug in to SSMS. I am currently using this for free.

Need a mechanism to be able to change Extended properties via the tool.
Will that be possible ?
