This is a feature I'm totally wanting as well.
It would be a key reason for me using command prompt more. -
I requested this feature too. IIRC, it is on the list for future releases, but not seen as important enough at the moment.
I hope Red-Gate offers some sort of feature vote list so that they can see what we really want for future releases. -
Hi
Any Red Gate comment ?

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback.
We've been reviewing feature requests for Prompt recently and support for acronyms is certainly on our radar--I could have used it yesterday! It's unlikely to make the 5.0 release but is a serious candidate for 5.1.
What level of flexibility would be useful?

Hi Luke
Thanks for the response
The sort of thing I was thinking about was the sort of Intellesence improvements seeon in products like Re Sharper and Visual Assist X.
The candidate list is filtered not only based on full names say LotBaseLog in my example , but on "CamelHumps" id LBL would immediately suggest LotBaseLog or any other object that matched the LBL pattern in its Capitalisations . In essense the reverse of auto aliasing as present in SQLPrompt already
Cheers

One suggestion I made ages back , did it ever get consideration ?
The suggestion was to allow "acronyms" as a super shortcut in the suggestion boxes.
Eg. for a table name LotBaseLog , the genrated alias would be lbl quite logically . How about doing it in reverse , SELECT * FROM ... lbl would give the top suggestion as LotBaseLog to match the Pascal Case capital word starts.
So in real shorthand you go enter ssf lbl and get the statement
This is a common feature of some of the Visual Studio enhanced intellesense add ins , like Resharper and Visual Assist X
Cheers
Mike
