I ran into the same issue. It doesn't seem to be installed as an extension for SSMS 21 (or at least there isn't anything under the extensions folder as is the case for SSMS 20). I tried manually copying from my SSMS 20 folder, but that didn't work. I hope they get this resolved soon. / comments

Redgate support couldn't find any real cause for the issues I/we are seeing, but recommended I try to uninstall and reinstall both SSMS 21 and the Redgate tools. I'd already done that once trying to resolve the issues I ran into initially, so wasn't very hopeful it'd help However, I did so, uninstalling Redgate tools first, then SSMS 21. I did not uninstall SSMS 20. I then reinstalled SSMS 21 followed by the Redgate tools, in my case SQL Prompt and SQL Search. Now everything works as expected. Since there were no real indicators of why it wasn't working before, I'm not sure what changed after the reinstall, but at least, in my case, it worked. Basically, if you guys haven't already tried doing that, it might be worth a shot. Good luck! / comments

I managed to get SQL Prompt installed correctly, but after that saw the same exact behavior as Gary, e.g. SQL history is empty/dead. In my case it also affects SQL Search. I reached out to support about this, shortly after my response above. I've been exchanging messages with them regularly, but so far, Redgate can't seem to replicate the issue on their end or figure out the cause. If you guys haven't, I'd definitely recommend reaching out to support, since it seems like this is not a very common issue, and best I could tell, I might be the first one to reach out to them about it. / comments
