Hi Andrej,
We typically drop foreign key constraints towards the start of a deployment script, to enable the dropping of the keys they reference. In this case however, I think you are correct that the whole table could have been dropped in one operation. / comments

Hi Jeremy,
I'm afraid it isn't possible to do this in Data Compare at the moment. If this would be a valuable feature to you could I suggest you leave a suggestion on uservoice. We use these requests to help prioritize upcoming work. / comments

Hi Karthink,
I'm afraid there is no way to manually choose which changes to deploy, although project options (https://documentation.red-gate.com/display/SC12/Setting+project+options) can be used to exclude some differences from deployments. / comments

Hi there,
I'm afraid that SQL Data Compare will not help with this as it only deploys changes through querying and inserting data through SQL Server itself, not disk operations.
I don't believe any Redgate tools will do exactly this but it might be worth checking out Redgate SQL Clone if you are concerned with replicating databases across different environments / comments

Hello,
I'm sorry you have run into this problem. I am afraid we are no longer actively working on v10 of Compare so the only thing I can suggest is to upgrade to a newer version which should not have this issue. / comments

Hi Mike,
Yes it ought to be possible to get up-and-running with a SQL Compare Pro license. Could I suggest you get in touch with support@red-gate.com about the best way to do this? / comments

Hi there,
You are correct that we do not currently write out the error output to this file. At the moment we do not have any plans to change this behaviour, but perhaps you could add an entry to https://redgate.uservoice.com/forums/147879-sql-data-compare if you feel this is an important change for us to consider.
It should be possible manually to output both Data Compare's output and errors to one file. The top answer at https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1420965/redirect-windows-cmd-stdout-and-stderr-to-a-single-file gives a good example of how this could be done. / comments

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for letting us know about this. Sorry you've run into this problem.
We are currently working on fixing some issues around line endings, so I hope that upcoming versions will work better in this scenario. / comments

Hi Rich,
At the moment we have only released this fix on our "Frequent Updates" channel, but the fix will be on our next default release too.
If you are interested in getting frequent updates releases you can follow the instructions at https://documentation.red-gate.com/display/SC12/Turning+on+Frequent+Updates on how to set this up / comments

Hi Matthew,
Thanks for letting us know, this reproduction is very useful. I have raised a bug in our internal bug tracking system about this.
This issue here appears to only be in the difference viewer view. It seems that the (nonstandard) newline will be deployed correctly despite us showing something misleading in the UI. / comments
