This should contain folders with GUIDs for names. Could you look in these folders and find any log files that might contain the exception information?
I saw that folder after the error but before closing the installer, but it contained no files or folders. It was totally empty. I closed the installer window, deleted the folder, and repeated this. Same result, no files or folders there, though the "Red Gate" folder was itself re-created.

Sadly, I don't see any related events in the Event Viewer. (That is, no messages within hours of me running the installer.) / comments
