When you run the Toolbelt installer we should create a temporary installation folder. Could you run the installer again and when it errors, leave the installer open and go to C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp\Red GateThis should contain folders with GUIDs for names. Could you look in these folders and find any log files that might contain the exception information?
Also could you look in the Windows Event logs to see if there's any additional error information? If you do find this information could you send it to support@red-gate.com and we'll have a look into it. -

Edit: To clarify, I've downloaded this twice in total and also used a copy of the SQLToolbox.exe that a co-worker had downloaded months ago for his install. This has happened with each of those copies, so it's unlikely to be a corrupted download file.
I did previously install this for an eval, but subsequently uninstalled it before I was told they'd be buying me a SQL Compare license.
