Hi,
If you were able to set it up successfully in the UI then you can save a project file and then use the project file by adding the /project:<project> (substitute <project> for your project file) switch when you call SQLCompare.exe
Does this help? / comments

Hi Annabel,
This should normally be fine for SQL Data Compare. Could you enable logging (as per these instructions in our documentation), recreate the problem and then email the logfile to support@red-gate.com ?
You'll find the logfile in the %localappdata%Red GateLogsSQL Data Compare folder. If you put #32584 in the subject line of your email, I'll be able to find it easily.
Thanks. / comments

No, I'm afraid you'll have to unlink and then relink following the move. It ensures that all the working files are kept in sync. / comments

Hi,
That sounds strange. I would first try upgrading to 3.7.7.462 to see if that helps, as I know there has been some work done regarding TFS.
If that doesn't fix it, send me the logfile and I'll take a look at it. You'll find the log in the %localappdata%Red GateLogsSQL Source Control 3 directory. Send it to support@red-gate.com and if you put 32487 in the subject line, I'll be able to easily find it.
Thanks. / comments

I was having the same "Couldn't get write lock" issue as swordfish and I'm also running the same version. Can't speak for him but my antivirus was the problem. Added the exclusion you mentioned and the problem is gone now. Thanks!

Hi,
I'd have a look at any antivirus software you are using and try excluding the %localappdata%Red GateSQL Source Control 3 directory from any scans. If your antivirus is scanning a file and obtaining a write lock, that could be causing the error you are experiencing.

Hi,
This is a known bug with reference SDC-1233. I have added a note to our bug tracking system that you have experienced it. Because using the mouse is an easy workaround, it's likely going to be something that isn't a very high priority for the developers to work on.
Thanks for your feedback. / comments

Hi,
Unfortunately Object Level Recovery currently does not work properly with SQL 2012 databases. There is an existing feature request on our system to fix this, with reference SB-5402. I've added this forum post to the feature request.
Apologies for this. / comments

Hi,
When you are selecting the comparison key in "Tables and Views", choose "Custom" from the dropdown box and then pick LastProcessedDataRowid from the list. This will perform the comparison using LastProcessedDataRowid instead of a primary key.

Hi,
I've created a support ticket which is ticket number 30616. In order to help diagnose the issue, I'd like to see a log file. Please could you set up logging as per this page in our documentation, recreate the problem and then email the logfile to support@red-gate.com?
If you could put #30616 as the subject line of your email, it will help us find the file.
Thanks. / comments
