Follow-up - although I never was able to figure out how to use process monitor (WAY too much information, and not easy to figure out how to isolate it for looking just at this folder useage); I tried something - moving my Projects folder from my My Documents, which is on a network drive; to the C:\Program Files\Red Gate folder. Keeping my fingers crossed, but seems to be working. Maybe something about being on the network drive vs. a local drive? As I said, I was working with a new workstation, perhaps the old installation was on a local drive, and I just didn't notice. / comments

Thanks for the start. I have downloaded the process monitor, and am now trying to figure out how to use it. Meanwhile, tried to uninstall SQL Compare, and then deleted my projects folder; re-installed from a fresh download, all to no avail. Problem seems worse than ever. I created a new project, worked in it, then closed it; and then my projects list had 3 items in it - all this same project. / comments

Thank you SO much!! That fixed the issue. I had not noticed those options in that location before, had only seen the filters and the Tools...Options. Appreciate very much the fast turn around. / comments

No, I think for this case it makes perfect sense at the project level. I just needed to be hit over the head with the location of the options tab via the Edit button. / comments

Continuation - we are now getting APPCRASH in RedGate.SQLDoc.UI.exe, fault module name = libcef.dll, exception code = c0000005, exception offset 00f8be0f. every time we do a save to the database. I have investigated if this is a permissions issue, it is not, I am SA on the server and have all permissions. I have investigated if it is due to project being located on network drive, it is not, I moved to my C drive and still get the error. Even though error is reported each time I save, the DB is updated, so we are just ignoring this but it is very annoying. / comments

never mind. I did brute force - uninstalled all my redgate tools, then reinstalled and the error has gone away. / comments

Hi, I'm having the same slowness with this version as well. Am running multi-SSMS as is this customer, and I am still on TFS2008. It takes forever to pull up the Commit Changes results, even when few or none. Also takes forever just opening the tables tree or stored proc tree. If you figure out a solution, I'd be happy to try it myself, thanks.
