I agree, upgrading SQL on the same machine the repository is located should not affect SQL Response. In fact, I have also tested SQL Response monitoring a SQL 2008 server and it works fine. What is strange is that I could bring up SQL Response on the server where the repository was located, but I kept getting a blank screen with no data, just a greyed out background of the SQL Response desktop. None of the menu items were available either. Rebooting did not clear it up. I finally just uninstalled SQL Response and re-installed it back to the same location and it all came back including all my SQL registrations.
Very strange!
I have tried to re-create this but I have not been successful. I am still testing so if I manage to do it again, I will advise AND I won't touch it until we can determine what in the environment has caused this.

I am aware of that. The login used is a domain account with SysAdmin rights. I have other MS Sql Server jobs (not red-gate) doing the same thing and it works just fine. We are migrating away from SQL Server native to Red-Gate and discovered this error. I even added the target server with the ... button (the shares were setup) and it still fails. The path then looks like \\servername\sharename\dbbackup.sqb. Any other suggestions? We are about to resort to a singe copy of the backup and then use robocopy to clone the copy. / comments

Thanks. We also thought of an idea. Do a full backup at 2:00am and restore it to the standy server at 6:00am. Then do a differential at noon and restore that at 4:00pm. Then, each 15 minutes do a transaction backup and keep those to bring the server up to date in the event of a crash. Your thoughts? / comments
