Hi Phil,
I'm afraid that it is not possible to attach to a running .NET 4 process from the command line. This is because you would need the process ID to be able to do it.
You can, however, attach to a running .NET 4 process from the ANTS Performance Profiler 6 user interface.
Hope that helps,

Hi,
I think you might find the EA build of ANTS Memory Profiler 7, which we released a couple of days ago, useful. You can obtain it from http://www.red-gate.com/messageboard/vi ... hp?t=12095.
While it does not take periodic snapshots, you can now add one line to your code to take a snapshot when that line is executed.
Please let us know what you think.

Hi Jonathan,
Please see the answer to your question in this forum thread: http://www.red-gate.com/messageboard/vi ... 8900#38900
I'm sorry that this hasn't been adequately covered in the ANTS Memory Profiler help previously; I have ensured that it will be included in the help for the forthcoming ANTS Memory Profiler version 6.

Hi,
Thank you for telling us about this. It's a small mistake in the help, I'm afraid. It should read:
'If you are using ClickOnce or Silverlight, the main assembly must be in the \obj\Release folder, and NOT in \bin\Release '
As you say, in all other cases, SmartAssembly will work fine if you point it at \bin\Release , so if you are not using ClickOnce or Silverlight you can do that instead. / comments

Hi Antoine,
Thanks for the comments. The whitepaper is a very good idea in my opinion and I'll write something on this.
There is a link to 'Help Topics' in the left-hand menu in SmartAssembly but it would be better if this went to the 'Getting Started' page that I linked to above. I've raised this as a bug. In the meantime, if you click the 'Help Topics' link, you will find a link to the 'Getting Started' page under the 'Learning SmartAssembly' heading.
Thanks,

Hi Antoine,

There is a link to 'Help Topics' in the left-hand menu in SmartAssembly but ...
The documentation for SmartAssembly 5 is located at http://www.red-gate.com/supportcenter/Content.aspx?p=SmartAssembly&c=SmartAssembly/help/5.0/SA_GettingStarted.htm&toc=SmartAssembly/help/5.0/toc.htm
To navigate around the documentation, use the 'Learning SmartAssembly' links to the right of that page.
I am planning to release an update to the help in the next month, so if there is some information that you need but you can't find in the help, please tell me by posting in this forum. I am also monitoring the support questions about SmartAssembly, so I will try to address the main issues that they have been asked about in the next update, too.
Hope that helps,
