Thanks for getting to the bottom of the problem. I guees .net 2 must have changed the way that it handles aliases as a few people seem to be having problems with aliases. If you want to post your aditional problems in a new thread we are always interested in the feedback. Thanks.

Well we are still using a standard .net connection so the only thing I can think of is that the differences arise because we are using .net 2.0 rather than 1.1.

I had similar problems to the ones that you are describing when I had a badly setup server alias on my machine. Have you setup any server aliases on your machine and are they all pointing to the correct places.

Sorry for the late reply. I am really low on ideas. I don't think we are doing anything very unusual in our connections. My only sugestion is to create an alias for that server and try and connect to that alias in SSMS and QA (A bit of long shot I know but might make sure that prompt is using the right connection properties).

Hi are these the same errors that you posted earlier or different ones? Are they all happening within SSMS. I am very sorry you have been having problems hopefully we will be able to find the cause of the ones you have posted and fix them.

Hi thanks for the feedback. I have added your first sugestion to our list. HOME and END did work in the way you described but it anoyed people as it is not consistent behaviour with Visual studio and got in the way as people used HOME and END to select lines. I have made prompt behave to same way as Visual Studio so ctrl page up and ctrl page down moves the cl to the top and bottom of the list.

Hi I presume that you are using Query Analyzer as the this behaviour will should only happen in that program. Unfortinatly since Query Analyzer was never suposed to suport plugins there is no way for us to be notified of what changes have been made to the file when you press undo. Since We don't know what changes have been made we have to do a full reparse whenever you press undo. I wish I could fix this behavious but as far as I can tell there is no reliable way to find out what has changed when you press undo. Since SSMS suppots plugins we get proper notification of all changes so you should get the expected behaviour in that program.
