I'd rather SQL Compare start up or have the option to start with the load project/open project screen instead of defaulting to my last opened project. 90% of the time I'm not opening the last project since I am the only DBA and I do the compares for all databases. / comments

I should add that refreshing does not seem to give me the comparison results either. / comments

I was not able to get rid of the problem until I closed sql compare and reopened it. my datasources are both sql 2005 databases. in the wizard I told it not to backup, not to save the scripts but to compare afterwards. I did not include dependancies.
I did not have logging on but I do now so I can send the log if it happens again.I have tried a few more compares with the same datasources and others to see if I can get it to happen again without luck.
In trying to go back to the project with the original problem I have encountered another one though. I selected the project from the recent projects. selected compare and it says it is complete and when I click ok it leaves the project properties up. if I close the project properites dialog It leaves me with the old project. (this was using file, open recent) I tried using the open button and the file open options and the same problem happens. I closed my current project and then opened the project and I was able to see the results. / comments

I used to use this old functionality quite often as well. I noticed it was gone but was hoping there was a "new" way to do it. Hopefully the swap functionality will make it in. / comments

I had the problem again this morning. I sent you an email regarding the files as they are too big to send. Please let me know what you'd like me to do. / comments

When the problem occurs again I will collect the data and send it. It seems to occur ever few days. I already deleted the files causing the problem in order to do what I needed. / comments

I'm running into the same problem and I'm running version 1.2. My alert is hours old yet won't show me the info. I tried restarting the service and now I get this error: This can happen if SQL Response encountered a problem and stopped while it was creating the alert file, the alert file has been deleted, or is inaccessible for some other reason. / comments

I monitor 3 server instances, I've had this happen on 2 of them. The one I wrote down was for a job duration unusual for 1 particular job. I haven't had it happen again. / comments
