Hi Bart
I have sent scrren dumps by mail , it looks horribly like the list is case sensitive , Now I know it works fine but not like 3.1
Is there a setting ? or is it a bug ?

Hi
Have you made the Candidates List case sensitive , it never used to be I typed Print @ na dall the variables show , I type Print @f lower case , they all disappear
Ditto all the Select Statements etc Select * from f gives nothing
Select * from F gives what I would expect
Case Sensitivity is not nice in SQL its bad enough in C# , have I missed a setting ??
Cheers
I can sedn screen dumps if you wish

Hi
You may want to look at Visual Assiste X for VS 2005 , to see how they approach AutoText (ie Snippets)
You can add a snippet and include $Anything$ in the code , as you use the shortcut or select the snippet you are prompted to provide Anything , which is insetrted into the code wherever yo define $Anything$
Imagine creating a standard wrapped property by typing your variable once !
they are www.wholetomato.com
PS yes I am lazy any labour saving stuff for me !!
Cheers

What I meant was that once you had coded a query you can copy it to ClipBoard and then create a snippet from it
I have just tried again and RH mouse doesn't give a context menu and Ctr V fails as well
It fails for both New and Edit snippets
It may be a setting but I get the same behaviour on 2 PC's [image] / comments

It was one of my prime "misisng Bits" from the beta , i use VS 2005 as a prime IDE and would also like to write sp's without moving into sqlMMSS / comments

I started a new thread cos I didn't see this one .
I agree with most of the above , I too was expecting VS2005 support as just like PromptSQL and SQLPrompt 2 .And wasn't aware it was specifically excluded.
Its a bit late to withdraw now , I bought way back in Oct and have been waiting with baited breath , what see so far is excellent and I wouldn't really like to be without it , I have used all 3 versions and "Love it To Bits"
I hope the support for VS 2005 comes before our 1 year support free upgrade runs out . I Assume by the way that that runs from Activation(??)
I appreciate the commentary around the use of QA and SQL mgt Studio but I am one who likes to work in one IDE where possible , . I do a lot of work on a "limp" lap top and wnything that preserves resources like one IDE is a bonus / comments

I Agree , I suspect the final product will not exhibit the annoyances of this beta
The unfortunate thing, as far as it goes ,is that is tarring SQLPrompt 3 with the wrong brush .
I have to admit that yesterday I needed to do something quickly and I turned it off , quite simply it was more of a hinderance than an asset.
I feel the whole concept is great but not at the expense of having ro re-edit code to remove the funnies that SQLPropmt 3 puts in for you unexpectedly.
Afte following the threads in the forum , I believe to gain any support from the beta tester group who will no doubt be the customer base, and to better test the concept , Red Gate should fix a few of the more glaring anamolies and complaints and release a second Beta that will look closer to the final product.
Things like the limited snippet list the ability to add snippets , the lack of table specific coandidate slist make this an inferiro product than v2
I will persever because I think the product has potential but very soon my frustrations will make me revert to V2 / comments

Hi Aaron
I knew you would have thought of it , I was looking in SqlPrompt options
As advertised I now have Cyan brackets , incidentally I am using 6.4 Beta and Begin ...End highlights perfectly as well . This is a superb addition especially in complex stored procs with horrible nestings
