Hi,
I understand how frustrating it can get to lose all your work.
However, the infinite loop scenario has been fixed in our v3.8 release.
My sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.
Thanks,

Hi Jerry,
The trouble is we would eventually support SSMS 2008 as well and I don't think users who use SSMS 2008 will find it particularly helpful if we use the same 'red underlines' as that could get confusing/annoying. We need to find a consistent way to notify users of these errors across all SQL Prompt supported editors. Maybe some sort of red flagging like those flags in Outlook or something entirely different! I think our usability team will have some interesting solutions for this though:)
Thanks,

Hi,
I am glad that you both liked the object definition feature that we introduced in v3.8 [image]
And yeah, the current SQL Prompt parser gives valid intellisense only when the SQL syntax in the query window is complete and devoid of any errors. But flagging the errors is a great suggestion. I have logged this as an enhancement request that we will review and probably implement for our future versions.
Thank you for taking the time to write your thoughts.

Hi,
I am sorry that you have had to face this trouble. The disappearing of candidates from the Candidate list is quite a challenging issue as we have not really identified any consistent method to reproduce this problem. We are investigating this issue and will have something worked out for our future releases. Meanwhile if you find any definitive ways to replicate this issue please do let us know.
Thank you for your patience.

That is really bizzare.
Can you tell me the OS you are using? I will try to establish the same environment to see what could possibly be going wrong.
Alternatively, do you have any other editors like VS or QA where you could check if SQL Prompt 3.8 RC (Layout particularly) works for you?
And if you can try to install v3.8 RC and remove SSMS tools just to confirm there is no corrupted image on your system it might help.
Thanks for your patience.

Hi,
Thank you for reporting this exception. We are unable to replicate the issue and it would be helpful if we could get some information from you to have this fixed.
Can you please tell us your system configuration like the OS, the editor you are using and if possible the script that caused the exception?
Thanks,

Hi Mike,
Glad to see that you liked SQL Prompt v3.8 RC.
The completion key issue somehow managed to slip through our tests. But thank you very much for bringing it to our notice and we will be fixing this issue for the final SQL Prompt v3.8 release.
Thanks again for taking the time to write your thoughts on the RC.

Hi Jon,
Apologies for having missed your post and I was in a training course today that added further delay to the response time!
Looks like the hang perception was from SQL Refactor given the shortcut key used. While including the layout functionality into SQL Prompt v3.8, we did fix all those hangs that were reported in the past by our SQL Refactor users.
Do let us know if you come across any such issues in Layout from SQL Prompt.
And thank you Jerry for noticing the catch and I hope SQL Prompt has been working well for you after the reinstallations!
