Hi Thorsten,
Thanks for you post.
You’re quite right, there isn’t currently any option in SQL Prompt for indenting with spaces instead of tabs, but my colleague Richard suggested a workaround.
After SQL Prompt has inserted the snippet, select the affected lines (or the whole document, it doesn’t matter), and from the menu bar choose Edit -> Advanced -> Untabify Selected Lines.
It’s a bit of a hassle, I know, but we are looking into addressing this issue in our future versions.
I hope that helps.
Regards,
Tanya

Hello Brien,
Hitting ESC does get rid of the Candidate list in SQL Prompt. Can you kindly confirm the editor you are using SQL Prompt on and would it be feasible to check this on any other SQL Prompt supported editors to confirm if it is a consistent behavior across all editors in your system?
Also, do you have any other third party tools installed for your editor?
Thanks,
Tanya

This is not a VISTA bug as I did try this on a VISTA 64 machine and it does work fine. Do you have any other external SQL tools installed on your system?

Hello,
When SQL Prompt dlls are removed from the Red Gate directory it is unlikely for SQL Prompt to affect the editor anymore.
If the problem still continues to happen it probably might be a good idea to reinstall your editor?
I hope that helps.
Thanks,
Tanya

There is no sign of the SQL Prompt but Management Studio is still behaviing as if it is attempting to call it.
Hello,
If SQL Prompt is not listed under Add/Remove programs it means that the application has uninstalled successfully and there is no specific manual uninstall method beyond that.
Do you have any other thrid-party plug-ins installed on your system or in Management studio?
Thanks,
Tanya

Hello,
Can you try to go down to your install directory (Program Files - Red Gate - SQL Prompt) and check if any Prompt dll's are present in the directory at all?
Thanks,

Hello,
I did manage to replicate the issue. It seems to be happening at certain scenarios while it works as expected in other scenarios.
For e.g.:
USE <databasename>
SELECT * FROM <tablename>
TRUNCATE TABLE ^
(OR)
Connect to any database and on the new query window key in;
TRUNCATE TABLE ^
^ denotes the cursor position and in the above two scenarios SQL Prompt does suggest tables while it fails in the following scenario.
USE <databasename>
TRUNCATE TABLE ^
We are looking into this issue and will address this in our future release.
Thanks for bringing the issue to our notice and excuse for any inconvenience caused.
Regards,
Tanya

Hello,
I tried to use TRUNCATE TABLE statement and I do get a list of tables from the database I am connected to.
Have you tried to refresh the cache to see if that fixes the trouble?
Also, are you able to replicate the issue consistently or is it more of a sporadic issue?
Can you please let me know the version no. of SQL Prompt you are using?
(SQL Prompt menu - About)
Thanks,
Tanya

Hello,
With respect to the alias trouble, you can try to change the name of the snippet from Options-Snippets-Select the snippet and edit the name of the snippet. I understand this is not an ideal solution but might help until we address this concern.
Meanwhile I will log this as an enhancement for our product managers to review.
I am not able to replicate the hang on trying to do check for updates. Can you let me know the version no. of SQL Prompt you are currently running?
To upgrade to v3.9, download the same from the below mentioned link and run the installation wizard. http://www.red-gate.com/products/SQL_Prompt/index.htm
I hope that helps.
Thanks,
Tanya

Hi,
You do not have to do anything with the registry settings.
Can you try to restart your editor and check if that solves the problem?
Thanks,
