Finally figured out the cause of failure.
The 1 Terra byte USB drive was configured as FAT 32 . Later we conveted it to NTFS and everything was fine.

I took the red gate backup for the same database , backup size was around 200 gigs ( level 3 compressions). But when I try to backup on USB drive, it fails.
Compressed backup size = 200 gigs
Free space on USB drive is 920 gigs.

It was a permission issue.
The account that I used was admin on the server but was not admin on SQL Server.
I uninstalled and installed with the correct accont and it worked fine.

Can anyone from Red-gate support look into this issue . Its very important for our businees that we dont have these errors.

On the failed restored, Red gate log says :
SQL Backup log file 6.2.0.134.
Sometimes , it also records below errors : (But later on , when I use same backup file., it works good ).
