Peter,
I have a windows environment variable called "irm_mssql_dbas" that contains one or more email addresses for the relevent dba(s) for the server. I want to have the results mailed to the dbas listed in the environment variable so I don't have to define them specifically for each backup set that I create.
Also, can I edit the command line code produced by the BU wizard without going through the GUI interface? I'd really like to use a text editor to create additional backup sets, or modify existing ones, without having to go through the BU wizard in order to save time.
Thanks,

Thanks Nigel; it makes sense now. Any chance that it the future, the email could be modified to create a web link to the error details? The goal is that an on-call person could open the emailed link in a blackberry and identify the issue in question.

I just get a local link browser that opens to 'my documents'.
Nigel,
Both the respository and the client are installed on my test server which is running Win Server 2003 Standard edition, SP2. The emails go to Outlook on my workstation which is running Win XP Professional, SP2.
When I click the URL, it opens to "My Documents" on my workstation. Where can I edit the "sqlresponse://" URL so it connects to the appropriate location?
Thanks,

Daniel,
The client is running on the repository server. I'm assuming that I don't have to install the client on every monitored server. It seems logical that the URL should point to a file on the host server with details about the server being reported on.

Priya,
Just wanted to 'second' Joe's request for the file space alert. I have a lot of data warehouse and SharePoint databases that grow unexpectedly and don't want to discover the hard way that a data or log file has ran out of space. One of our policies is to set limits on the autogrow feature so we have control over the location and size of data and log files, but sometimes the database can grow unexpectedly fast, especially with SharePoint.
Thanks,

Hi Priya,
What I had in mind would be an option in the 'Configure Email' panel that would send 'reminder' notices at a user configured interval like every x minutes/hours/days to 'nag' the responsible party until the issue has been resolved. This would be useful for lower priority items that still need to be addressed, but can't be immediately resolved due to time constraints. As an example, sometimes my 'plate runs over' with high priority items, but I still want to take proactive measures so the lower priority issues get resolved even though I'm too busy to deal with them at the current time. Hopefully, this makes sense and I didn't ramble on too much.
Thanks,

Priya,
Would it be possible to make email notification frequency a user configurable option? I'd like to minimize the spam too, but also don't want to loose track of a recurring problem when I'm busy attending to other details or issues. I've got approximately 1200 databases spread over 80 servers to manage so it gets a little crazy sometimes, especially when things go south!
Thanks,
