i have today had a number (may be 8 - 10) instances where i was laying out code (CTRL + B, CTRL + L) and SSMS just hung completely and, as described, the only way out was to crash out and restart SSMS.
I have recently added Access 2007 and Office 2007 SP1 to the PC but taking that off again has not resolved the issue.
I am using SQL Prompt 3.8.0.224 with all latest sp's on SQL/VS.
seems to affect clipboard first - cant copy or paste anything in SSMS then the layout request crashes the whole show.

having it in a web format (html variants) seems to lead itself to having an option to build a Reporting Services set of reports ... ?
(if you can sort out the data output I would be quite interested in taking a look at building the report solution with you) / comments

Brian,
i got the restore to work from the multiple .bak files without any issues, i was just wondering why i got 3 and guessed it might be linked to the thread count used on the SQL Backup.
thanks / comments

Thanks very much for that information. It means we can get on with recovery our databases without having to get tied up with SQL Backup installations and license transfers.
I have tried the exe and it has produced 3 .bak files for one .sqb file, is that because i used 3 threads in the backup job?
thanks again

Hi,
does the sqb2mft.exe require SQL Backup to be installed to convert the sqb files or can i simply run this exe on my DR server and then use SSMS to restore the database if i have to handle an emergency?

Wow, not seen any problems like that.
There are a few niggles with prompting getting in the way of typing - I think functions should rank over column names so typing object should give Object_id at top rather than expanding to objectid from a dmv ... and I still think that no aliases should be the same as snippet shortcuts. IE if I have a table called InternsJunior its alias should be InJ not IJ as IJ expands to Inner Join as soon as you tab on... / comments
