Hi Rick,
I apologise you are encountering issues with the SQL Backup command line.
What version of SQL Backup are you currently running?
Do you have the output of the batch file logged anywhere?
If you could check for SQL Backup log files around the time that this batch file ran that would be great, they can be found here by default :
%allusersprofile%\Application Data\Red Gate\SQL Backup\Log\<instance name>
Thanks, / comments

Hi meklembl,
When the delete history option is selected, SQL Backup will run the stored procedure to delete when the backups have finished.
No job is created on the server so if no backups are being run, nothing is deleted.
I hope this helps. / comments

Hi smaddi,
The error shown is usually due to network timeouts, you may wish to view this related KB article
Also, could you send me the whole SQL Backup log file for the failure?
You can find them here by default :
%allusersprofile%\Application Data\Red Gate\SQL Backup\Log\<instance name>
If you could send it to support@red-gate.com quoting reference F0020974 it would be appreciated. / comments

Hi PDinCA,
I'm sorry you are running into this error.
Would you be able to send us your Alert Repository files so we can try and recreate the issue here?
You should find them here by default on the AR machine :
[All Users]\Application Data\Red Gate\SQL Response 1\Alert Repository
If you could e-mail them to support@red-gate.com referencing this forum topic we will take a look. / comments

Hi Wyatt70
I am having trouble reproducing this here, would it be possible to send me some SQL Compare snapshots of the data sources or scripts folders of the schema using SSMS if Compare will not complete the snapshot?
If you could e-mail them to support@red-gate.com quoting reference F0020797 that would be great. / comments

Hi Matthew,
Unfortunately there isn't an option to make this work when you are setting the variable on the same line.
I have added this as a bug/feature request which will be considered for a future release. / comments

Hi,
All test e-mail attempt errors are logged in the Alert Repository log files.
You can find these files by right clicking the SQL Response Title bar and choosing Copy Alert Repository log file which will give you a copy of the latest log file or go to the Alert Repository machine and look here :
%allusersprofile%\Application Data\Red Gate\Logs\SQL Response Alert Repository 1
I hope this helps. / comments
