Hi there,
You can select to set a number of columns for your comparison key, thus creating a composite comparison key.
There may not be data in one of these columns that is unique, however when you set the key on a number of columns, you can choose those columns where the combination of information gathered will be unique.
Hope that helps!

Hi John,
If using SQL Compare 8, you can go to File > Create snapshot and then the tool will create a binary file representation of each set of schema for you.

Hi John,
I am going to have to have a go at replicating this myself. It would be great if you could take snapshots of the schema and send them to support@redgate.com quoting the "F00...." reference number you already have, and I can then work with your schema.
If this isn't possible, let me know and I will try and replicate this with my own examples.

Hi John,
Many thanks for your post.
This can be a bit tricky as it is hard to change the collation for an overall database, but hopefully this will work for you:
1) Create new blank database with the new collation
2) Synch existing source database with collation set as Latin1_General_CI_AS to the new target, however set for SQL Compare to ignore collations in the synch
3) Synch the data from source to new database
4) Sych the data from the newly created database to desired source with tables already set up with collation set as SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
Hope that helps,

Hi there,
Providing the servers are listed in the SQL Backup GUI, you should be able to see the backup job on the source database and the restore job on the target DB.
From there, you should be able to delete the jobs, however if in doubt, you can find the jobs in SSMS listed under the usual SQL Server Agent > Jobs location.

Hi there,
It is probably best if we handle this via the support call that we have opened automatically. I will send you an e-mail shortly where we can arrange a remote session to look into this for you.

Hi there,
I have now raised this as a feature request for you under tracking number SB-4486. This will be considered for a future release of SQL Backup, however I cannot at this time confirm whether it will make it into the tool or not.
Thanks for your suggestion though!

Hi there,
In the log shipping wizard, you can choose to offset the restore based on the transaction log backup. If you know how long the transaction log backup takes and how long on average it takes for the file to transfer across to the network share, you could adjust the offset to something like 240 mins if you wanted the restore to occur 4 hours after the intial backup was taken. This is on step 5 of the wizard.
Does this sort of suit your needs?

Hi Simon,
I believe it does relate to this issue, and have added your comments accordingly.
I also believe that this is on the cards for V2 of the product, which should be out later this year. If you would like to get involved with usability sessions for V2, and also put your ideas forward, you can e-mail thefutureofmonitoring(at)red-gate.com and you will be adedd to the list.

Hi Michael,
Essentially, the issue with this was that certain parts of the SQL Prompt 4 code were looking for a V3 registry key rather than a V4 registry key.
This was updated and has been released as part of the latest cumulative patch. All being well, this should make it into a point release later this year, however I cannot confirm when this will be.
