SSMS 22. tabs do not autoconnect consistently

I am just moving to SSMS22 from SSMS21 and have installed SQLPrompt 11.3.3.20567 on both instances.   I have noticed that in SSMS22 tabs are reloaded at startup but the reconnect does not work correctly for all the tabs.   It does work fine in SSMS21.

I have found that the connections that work are only those that have been set up using the “Classic” connection dialog.   which I had not used for SSMS22 but had for SSMS21

So basically, the reconnect does not work for connection that were not created  via the “Classic” dialog.

@ wheelie life Thanks for reporting this - I’m seeing the same behavior after moving from SSMS 21 to SSMS 22 with SQL Prompt installed. Tabs do reload on startup, but connections created using the newer connection dialog often fail to reconnect, while those created via the Classic connection dialog work reliably. This doesn’t happen in SSMS 21, so it does look like a compatibility issue between SSMS 22, SQL Prompt, and the new connection UI. Hopefully Redgate can address this in a future update, but for now using the Classic dialog seems like the safest workaround.

Also due to tabs switching after opening, I have pressed F5 only to have the tabs ‘switch’ and the wrong query executed! I may have to go back to SSMS 20 if this happens regularly
