Hi all - confirming that we are starting to see releases of our Toolbelt products with SSMS21 preview functionality.
It is noted that this is in preview and not officially supported until SSMS21 GA is available. There will be official notifications as our products officially support SSMS21 through our blogs, release notes & product requirement documentation.
SQL History & SQL Prompt will install into SSMS21 (preview) for release V10.16.6

There are some one-time changes to make as SSMS21 is VS based. Thank you to @RightTurnsOnly for sharing the link:

We are looking forward to announcing other products joining SQL Prompt in SSMS21

Same question here (specifically re: SQLPrompt)... Watched the SSMS 21 announcement at PASS last week... (which was sponsored by RedGate), so I am thinking there should be some news about compatibility, etc... that can be shared.

Same question for SQL Prompt and SQL Search

Hi and thank you for reaching out on the Redgate forums.
Regarding SSMS21 - I have checked with our product teams and this is in our development teams priority lists to deliver for each toolbelt product.
Current planning is to make our respective products compatible with SSMS21 before the main GA release.
There is not currently support for the preview versions. The tools may install & work; but we cannot guarantee any functionality at this stage.
There will likely be formal announcements via our blog and per each product's release notes to confirm when SSMS21 support is implemented.

+1 👍 Installed 21.0 Preview 2.0 this morning - no SQL Prompt on this version after upgrading SQL Prompt.

Is there anyone on this thread who has been able to install SQL Prompt in an SSMS 21 instance? I would like to run SSMS 15 and 21 side by side, with SQL Prompt installed, but after uninstalling/reinstalling SQL Prompt, it only detects the SSMS 15 instance (I think).
Realizing it isn't yet supported, it would be nice to know if it is possible to at least install SQL Prompt with SSMS 21. -
SSMS 21 is a completely different “beast” to prior releases; it's based on the full VS environment and is 64bit. The old versions won't work with it because they aren't true VS extensions and are 32-bit.
Red Gate did post about their plans though; I doubt we'll see anything until the final release, or just before.

Running SQL Server Management Studio 21.0.85.35806.103 with SQLPrompt_10.16.6.15646
SQL History is working not all code completion is available like ‘Press TAB to expand wildcard’. SQL Prompt menu option is missing from the menu.
But it is a preview so work in progress.

I have both SSMS 20 and 21 installed (need to maintain 20 at least until SQL Source Control works on 21, which is not yet).
It seems that SQL History is accumulating only queries from SSMS 20, but not SSMS 21.
The post above me says SQL History is working in 21, wonder what's different.
Brian Wertwyn To get SQL Prompt in the menu, you have to take a couple steps, as outlined in this post: https://documentation.red-gate.com/sp/getting-started/installing-and-running-sql-prompt
