Hello Nisha,
Thank you for reaching out. Large databases, like your 28TB production environment, can result in significant disk space usage during comparisons. We recommend increasing disk space or optimizing the comparison process. You could also consider excluding large tables or indexes during the comparison to minimize disk usage. Let us know if you need further assistance.
Best regards,

Disk space issues during large database comparisons can definitely be challenging, especially with databases over 20 TB. Temporary storage, snapshots, and comparison logs often grow more than expected. It may help to check where SQL Compare stores temp files and limit comparisons to specific schemas instead of the full database.
Clear, step-by-step documentation really helps in complex processes like this. I recently saw a well-structured guide that explains things in a very simple flow — this detailed renewal guide shows how organized steps reduce confusion and save time.
Proper guidance always makes technical or procedural tasks much easier to manage.

We are currently using SQL Compare (Version 14.5.1.18536 Professional) to compare our production database with our lower environments. However, during this process, our production environment encountered disk space issues. Our production database is approximately 28 terabytes, and I wanted to check if this is a known issue or if it could be related to the size of the database.
Could you please provide any insights or recommendations on how we can avoid these disk space issues when using SQL Compare?
Any information to this or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your assistance, and I look forward to your response.
