I use SQL Prompt in Azure Data Studio.

It has been working fine, but today I have started getting this error message:

I have downloaded and installed the latest version of the extension but the problem persists.

Is anyone else having the same problem?  Can someone please suggest a fix?

From looking at old release notes it looks like maybe they just need to push out the TimeBomb date. @redgate is anyone working on fixing this, please?

I'm now getting a notification in ADS to upgrade the extension, but the new version isn't on the downloads page yet...

Hopefully this means it will be fixed soon :-)

I can confirm this experience. I cannot help wondering, wether the issues has been fixed, but the link to the download is incorrect, or the file has not been published in the expected location.

    Hi All,

Apologies for the radio silence on this one. We can see it have evidently had a wider impact in the community that support were initially exposed.

The development team are aware and have been working on a fix. Our understanding is this will be deployed in the next release of SQL Prompt, so watch out for this imminently.

    Hi Robyn,

    Thanks for the update.

Could you also give us an estimation on when this release will be deployed?

    Kind regards

Would it be possible to reset and redeploy 0.2.14 until the next version is available so we can keep working?

@Robyn, thanks to the team for working to restore SQL Prompt in Azure Data Studio. I'm looking forward to not having to use SSMS so much.

I'm also having this issue with 0.2.14 being expired but 0.2.15 download page does not exist. Thanks for your attention on this matter @Robyn. Are we closer to knowing an ETA on the new release?

    Hi All,

Sorry that there has been no update - we simply haven't had the information to share!

We now know that a release will not happen before the end of the week. With the UK Bank Holiday on Monday the earliest we anticipate the release is Tuesday 27th. However, we have still not been given a firm ETA.

Should we get any further information, it will be shared here.

Thanks @Robyn! I think all this pressure is simply due to something that we used suddenly stopped working.  Not because it broke with an update, but rather was time-bombed to expire.  Is there a way to remove that "feature" so this doesn't happen again and the users aren't all blind-sided?

The new update is now available. You should be able to update as normal through ADS but if you cannot here is a link to the VSIX to install it from

    https://download.red-gate.com/EAP/SQLPromptADS/SQLPromptADS_0.2.15.0.zip

Thank you for your patience whilst we have been waiting on this release!

If you haven't already, updating SQL Prompt using the link below should fix any issues in ADS.

@Robyn I think @BeardedFen is correct - the link you posted is SQL Prompt for SSMS.  This thread was concerned with the SQL Prompt for ADS extension.  I think the latest version is https://download.red-gate.com/EAP/SQLPromptADS/SQLPromptADS_0.2.15.0.zip

I am now getting this same expired message with version 2.15. Is there a 2.16 to download @Robyn? I reinstalled 2.15 from vsix and still get the error.

When using SQL Prompt, an error message is returned that the version has expired (2.15). There is just no new version to be found, so now we cannot use SQL Prompt for ADS. Can this be looked into?
