  There is a known issue with 19.0.2 that the development team are working on currently. It does work on 19.0.1 however.

  Same here, installed ssms 19.0.2 and as soon as I click sql search, SSMS crashes. Nothing in the logfiles.

  I installed 3.6.2, however the dropdown for the databases was empty and when I clicked on it to see the list then it crashed SSMS 19.0.2
  
  Strange: I didn't change anything, but it started working perfectly today... :-)

  I already had this problem some times, without a crash, but with the new version it crashes when the database dropdown is empty.

  I had the same problem and 3.6.2 solved the problem. But when you download from normal site we still have 3.6.1 version. Should be updated in the download web page.

  Uninstalling Search, repairing SSMS via Control Panel, rebooting laptop/PC, and then installing Search again resolved the problem for me.

  SSMS 19.0.2 crashes with the version of SQL Search installed from the RedGate website (their support are aware that this isn't the latest version and it has an issue but don't want to update it). Their support team provided the link for the latest version which works for me: https://download.red-gate.com/checkforupdates/SQLSearch/SQLSearch_3.6.3.3612.exe

  The 3.6.3.3612 worked.   The .3390 version stopped the crash, but did not work properly , this one does both
